I am regular reader of Hacker News. Hacker News announced the HN search competition for developers using their search api. You can also vote for HNSearch voting apps. I have checked few of them and i like HNTrend. HNTrend is showing graph of keywords from 2007 to 2011. You can search maximum 5 keywords in one time. HNTrend graph will show you how many times of keywords mentions by the hackers in hacker news site.

I did some analysis on technologies in Hacker News discussion website.These trends showing us the developers interest in technologies.

Magento CEO Roy Robin posted that Ebay is ready to acquire the Magento. As per Roy post that Ebay will be going innovate the next generation eCommerce  innovation. We are very eager to know that how Ebay will use Magento to develop open platform for large eCommerce applications.

Magento team will also work with ebay for developing x Commerce application. Magento is also proved the power of LAMP technology and another area of innovation.

I just read an article “SOAP is not Dead -It’s undead, A Zombie in Enterprise” . This statement is completely true. I was working in Indian MNC and i had discussion about API with around 50 developers. I found our that 30% developers do not know about the REST API and 40% know but haven’t used it.

I have also analyzed that 90% of enterprise application are using SOAP and WSDL web services for their applications. Even as new enterprise application are using SOAP web service. Below image clearly explain about the SOAP web service in scope in enterprise products.

SOAP is still widely used in the enterprise applications. These application will not be going to the replace their API with REST.

SOAP web services are still big player in Enterprise application market.
